Took my Mom to Charlie's for lunch, to celebrate her 81st Birthday! I felt is was a good sign, when we saw a Bald Eagle circling over the half frozen bay on Prior Lake. Amy was our server and she was EXCELLENT! The food was also wonderful! The view Fantastic! Highly recommend this establishment, which also owns Lago Tacos located in Uptown and Excelsior! Many of the Lagos Tacos menu items are included on Charlie's menu.
Friendly, relaxing and open atmosphere. Beautiful view of the lake from almost every seat. And the food was delicious as Well! (We got two burgers, a steak, and the mushroom, spinach, & tomato ravioli - all parties commended the food).
The old building was finally torn down and a new one was built. The building itself was well thought out with multiple places to eat and drink. We ordered one of their specialty drinks, the juice box, which was fantastic. We also got some ice cream. The nachos and other food that passed us looked really good but we didn't order any.
The service was good considering the number of customers at the time, but I would have liked it if our server had checked on us a little more frequently. The food was good, but maybe a little overpriced - or it could just be that we don't get out often enough to know what to expect.
Parking a car will always be difficult with a small lot in a residential setting. But the trade-off is the beautiful lake view and ample dock space for your watercraft.
I've visited Charlie's for company-hosted dinners with 25+ attending and on other occasions with friends/family when a good meal and Happy Hour are in order. They never disappoint! Always great service and quality food.
This place does a great job trying to entertain all ages. They even had bean bag toss there which was a blast. I'd definitely take others to Charlie's, we had a great time!
We visited Charlie's to hear the band Rhino. It was very busy and when we arrived there were valet parking signs everywhere, but no indication of the cost. We found a place to park on the street within walking distance and later heard the valet service was complimentary. I'm not sure if this was true, but it would be great information to have listed on the signs and online so visitors know what to expect.
