I have been a customer of Mystic Lake buffet for over 12 years. I wish to mention the astonishingly poor service received during my visit on Thursday, October 5, 2017 around 7pm. My coworkers and I were seated in an area served by a middle-age Asian woman (reddish hair) who was blatantly disrespectful to our group. Unfortunately, I do not recall her name. This server never refilled our drinks, threw straws at our table and was extremely rude to my coworker, snapping at him with a loud-toned voice when asking for a refill of water. I also found this server glaring at our group uncomfortably and never removing our used plates. As a side note, the food around this time was rather bland, slow to refill and was generally mediocre despite the $20 admission fee (usually, it is better)
UPDATE: I have decided to downgrade my review to 1-Star as I have NOT been contacted in over 2 months with regards to my customer service complaint as promised below. No customer should ever be mistreated in a restaurant the way our group was by this server, especially as we paid over $20 each to eat at this buffet.
Love the brunch with unlimited mimosas. And don't forget the wild rice soup you won't be disappointed
I seek to bring this to management attention as I am a frequent customer of Mystic Buffet and will continue to come. My coworker mentioned this matter again so it is clear that not only I found the service exceptionally disturbing. My group of coworkers have chosen never to patronize the buffet again as a result of this server's poor service and has caused negative conversation in our division about the reputation of the buffet. I would appreciate some follow-up regarding my customer service complaint and I apologise that I do not recall this server's name.
Overhyped, selection was rather small, and took forever to get seating. Food was "ok".
We wanted to compare between going to treasure island vs mystic, both on seafood night. Both places are vey pricey, mystic is $7 more for two people. Both had good service. Mystic had slightly more entree items and treasure island had more desserts (treasure island also has a hibachi grill). Crabs legs are large at both. Mystic's crab legs had a fuzzy look to most off them and treasure island's tested better. I appreciate the bowl for shells you get at treasure island and at mystic you don't have to leave the buffet area to use the restroom.
Delicious food all around. Many sections with a variety of food ranging from Italian, comfort food, asian fusion, and much more. The desert section has nearly endless variety for any sweet tooth. It does get busy so get in line early! Staff is friendly and service is usually fast.
